Trusting The Wisdom Within

I’m Kirsten

I am deeply passionate about the therapeutic and healing process. My appreciation and reverence for the unique nuances of each individual’s experience only continues to grow. I hope to help inspire curiosity within my clients about themselves, their relationships and the world. If you have a desire to live more authentically and feel more embodied, coaching or therapy may be a wonderful resource for you.

Originally from Northern Virginia, I have lived in Boulder County for more than 20 years. After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from CU Boulder, it felt clear that solely studying people would not be a fulfilling career option for me. I wanted to go deeper, to help facilitate change and healing. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University and am grateful every day for the work I get to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Coaching is distinct from psychotherapy and is available to clients anywhere in the world.

Coaching allows for a more collaborative journey and doesn’t include certain retrospective processing, such as trauma work. Coaching tends to be more: strength and solution-focused, present and future-oriented, and focused on skill-building/mentorship/self-efficacy.

Coaching is distinct from psychotherapy and cannot replace clinical treatment. Depending on your individual situation, you may be required to see an additional healing professional (ie. therapist, psychiatrist, or physician) in order to work with me as a coach.

How much are sessions?

$130 for a 60 minute session or $180 for a 90 minute session.

What is your therapeutic approach?

I am a humanistic therapist who is both warm and direct. Some of the modalities I incorporate are: Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Existential therapy, EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. I modify my approach to meet each of my client’s unique styles/needs. Building strong therapeutic relationships and inviting laughter into the room are some of my hallmarks. I hope to help you gain insight about yourself, cultivate self-awareness and nurture your authentic self.

What is the process of finding the right therapist?

For you to experience results from therapy, it is important that you find the right therapist for you. I encourage all of my clients to interview an assortment of therapists before they commit to one. Feel free to call me for a no-cost 15 minute phone consultation to see if you think we might be a good fit. (970) 480-7893.

Who do you work with?

I enjoy working with teenagers (12+) and adults. I work with all genders and sexual orientations. I am a culturally sensitive counselor who’s door is open to everyone.

What type of payment do you accept?

I prefer cash or check, but I do also take most major credit cards. I am happy to provide a superbill so that you may bill your own insurance.
